Lynn,

Thanks for your comment and interest in "Come Back Home." I found a free downloadable mp3 version this morning relatively easy by googling "Come Back Home Bobby Goldsboro." I play it every week. It still has the same punch for me that it did back in 1971. Read the Gospel of John and foster your faith with the basic things of the Christian faith. Find a Bible-believing church that loves people and begin to have a larger family. We are sinners snaking our way through a difficult world. But the Lord's grace is sufficient. We trust Him and Him only to take away sin and He forgives us. No braggers in heaven. Just forgiven saints. If you have not already, read "My Story" in the drop down menus on my blog site.

I found your blog about the song "Come Back Home" during another of my searches trying to find a copy of it (preferably an MP3 version as I no longer have a way to play vinyl). Although I have never been a dedicated Christian, I DO believe, and currently God is reeling me back in (again, hopefully to stay). I fell in love with this song the first time I heard it, and I bought the single, and played it countless times during the 70's and 80's. However, in 1998, a home fire destroyed all my vinyl records and cassette tapes. And I've been routinely trying to find a good copy of this song ever since. I am amazed this song does not appear on any of the "Best of" albums. Thank for your post. I was beginning to think I was the only person who even remembered this song. I liked Bobby's other works, but 'Come Back Home' was ALWAYS my favorite. Bless you.

Jason, thanks for a response here. I checked the article out briefly. I really have no interest in interacting further with the writings of Dave Macpherson. I have done some in the past. It is the same stuff regurgitated over and over. Nothing new worth commenting on from my end. I am strongly pre-trib and view his arguments as a bit zany at times (especially in his view of the origins of pre-trib teaching) and his style a bit strident.

I was born raised 3rd generation Jehovah's Witness 1957.
As to what they believe the CORE doctrine of the Watchtower organization (JW) is that Jesus had his return, aka second coming October 1914 'invisibly' and they were the only ones who discerned it.They clearly are false prophets (Galatian 1:8)
Best regards,Danny Haszard

I played both football & baseball at Montclair State University in New Jersey 1977-1980. I was saved 4 years later and rejected sports altogether for nearly a decade (a gross over reaction to perceived idolatry in my life). Anything taken to extremes can be destructive, but the life lessons in athletics (not to mention sermon illustrations) are self evident.

"I am not yet convinced that there is a “deception dilemma” for the apparent age view even if their cosmology is correct - it seems to me that apparent age is absolutely necessary in creationism. The text speaks of trees being created, not seeds. It speaks of birds, not eggs. Adam was able to talk and to name all the animals apparently on his first day of existence. It speaks of stars apparently being visible from earth on the day they were created. All this REQUIRES apparent age. To then suggest that other facets of creation are NOT created with "apparent age" - that would be deceptive! Consistency REQUIRES apparent age!

Dr. Stallard, I always appreciate the work that goes into the councils. I have to embrace the fact that it was not possible for me to be there this year. However, if there is anyway to access the papers or have them e-mailed, I would appreciate the opportunity to continue learning through the Council format.

Grace and peace,

Mark R.
